Preseason Rankings(6/16):
Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine is out and the Longhorns are expected to once again make a run into the
playoffs. The 2007 District Champ Horns are picked to finish second to Strawn in the upcoming season. May is
picked at the #3 spot but should definitely give Gordon and Strawn plenty of resistance. For Gordon to live up
to or exceed their preseason rankings, several questions will need to be answered. Will they be able to fill the
holes left by the graduating class? Will the returning lettermen rise to the occasion? Gordon made a name for
itself in the 1990's and early 2000’s as a team that didn't rebuild year after year, they just reloaded. This
looks to possibly be one of those reloading seasons familiar to Gordon fans. The Longhorns will get a chance to
prove themselves in week zero when they face Valley, ranked second in the state, in Hico.
