The 2008 Gordon Longhorns Football Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Tye Adams
Coaching Experience: Coach Adams improved his coaching record in 2007 to 15-6 after leading the Horns to a District title and a 9-2 overall record. He helped to bring the title back to Gordon after a three year drought. Adams enters his third year at Gordon with a strong core of returning lettermen to work with.

In 2006 Coach Adams took the reins of a Longhorn program that had just experienced it's first losing season in 19 years. Adams was able to steer his squad back on the winning track leading the Horns to a 6-4 record that season. The Horns were once again playoff contenders, virtually missing the playoffs in an overtime thriller.

Adams spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons as a defensive coach at Springtown.

As a player: Adams attended Tarleton State where he played defensive back for the Texans. In high school, Adams was a standout defensive back for Hamilton.

Assistant Coach: Bo Johnson
Coaching Experience: Johnson returns to assist in '08 after helping Coach Adams and the Horns rack up their 18th distrcit championship and 22nd playoff berth.

Coach Johnson joined the 2007 staff with a strong knowledge of the game and the Gordon Longhorn tradition.

As a player: Johnson was an all-around standout for the Gordon Longhorns during his tenure which spanned the 98-01 seasons. His playing career included being a part of the 1999 state champion team.

Assistant Coach: Todd Vinson
Coach Vinson joined the Longhorn coaching staff prior to the 2008 season.
